A patch of clovers, a place close to home and a whole lot of chemistry. We shot Shana and Adam’s beautiful wedding back in 2006 and it is alway fun to catch up while doing a simple portrait session. Adam and Shana are so down to earth and fun loving that I wanted to shoot a simple session “no where in particular” and give a warm summer/spring feel to the images.. .jmc.
Thank you guys! These are so beautiful…we had such a great time with you John…Thank you for being so patient with us over the years…We will let you know when we start shooting the film :O)
Kelli & Mike hooked up with us for their super-bad ass bridal session!
Killer light, killer couple - we could not ask for more!
My favorite part of this whole image? Kelli’s hand on Mike’s chest.
Thanks you two… the engagement, the wedding, the bridal… I’m kinda sad we are finished:( Guess I will have to think of some excuse for a future session!
These photos, as well as Kelli and Mike’s wedding photos, are incredible! They show off your absolute genius in and your undeniable talent. I am so thrilled with all your work. Thank you for creating so many happy memories for my family.
George and Joanne’s Wedding. Amidst criss crossing back and forth from one side of the country to the other to photograph weddings, we had one small wedding right here downtown at the Golden Nugget. What does a well traveled photographer think and expect when he comes home to shoot a small intimate wedding in his home town? Well, if it’s Joanne and George’s wedding then expectations are pretty much evaporated when photographing this couple and thier tightly nit group of best friends and family (see post below - the wedding party). Right at the start of the day (while Joanne was getting ready) practically everyone in the wedding party was in the bathtub….. together….. drinking, laughing and having fun (no water needed it the tub) I knew that this was going to be a good group. George and Joanne: thank you for being so much fun to hang out with, you made me feel like I was part of the family and friends that made the day go by way to fast… thanks…. .jmc.
The fantastic, Lori White, did a great job on hair and make up
These are super cool. You all give people the actor persona… I love that. These people look like actors, are they? I love the portraits at the Four Queens.
The Wedding Party. If I were to count the weddings that I’ve shot in the thousands, then you would know that I’ve seen at least 5 fold that number worth of bridesmaids and groomsmen. With that said, the groomsmen and bridesmaids that represented Joanne and George’s wedding clearly are in my top ten favorite wedding parties to work with of all time… they were just fun and alive, and it made my whole day so enjoyable that my time at the wedding just flew by too quickly. I thought this wonderful group of people diserved their very own post, just the wedding party.
I have to make the statement…as much as you may like the Bride & Groom, the wedding party can really make or break the wedding day. Glad you had a good crew.
Brutally handsome + drop dead gorgeous = a pretty sweet day for Altf
Whitney from One Luv Agency came out from Vegas and, as always, Styled Kelli and her bridesmaids beautifully
This entire day was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, but more importantly, the people at this wedding were astonishing. The images above show off the outer beauty, but Mike and Kelli and the wonderful friends and family that surround them make them some of the luckiest people we know.
We would add in some images of their high energy reception, but I would have to build a whole new blog for that. Let’s just say, the party started before dinner was even served - Below is their awesome video coverage from Elysium Video! Check it out:
THIS IS INCREDIBLE!
I cannot wait to see the rest! You are masters at your craft; and because of your amazing talent, we will forever have these photos to relive and remember 2 very happy days in our lives…the weddings of our children. After seeing the results of Lauren and Nick’s wedding, there simply was no other option for this happy event other than you. No one else would do. Thank you for giving so much to us and our family. The memories, captured beautifully and artfully, will be cherished for generations. You have exceeded our expectations, yet again.
Define fun? Well, after just 5 seconds of conversation you’ll realize that Chris and Gretchen are a lot of fun and that there is going to be a lot of energy at their upcoming wedding… Note to self: load up on Red Bull or Rockstars (sugar free for me) before heading out to shoot this event.
Their pack of Jack Russels had even more energy. (I’m a secret fan of these dogs, full of personality and purpose driven) …
I see “Splender in the Desert” and the weeds with two beautiful people having fun and in love with each other.Cassee the one showing her fangs is not that dangerous to be around she loves her treats. The shutter bug did a fabulous shoot and can’t wait to see more at the wedding.Click on…JOHN GILLIS
Wow, those are FANTASTIC shots!! But, then again, look at the beauty you had to work with: A gorgeous couple, some lovely terriers, and the lovely desert! Love you both
oh my gosh jmc these photos are so much more then i ever dreamed of! i love them:) what a blast we had during the shoot. once jmc fired off fast and ferious shutter speeds cassie came “alive!” her terrier brain was thinking “it must die! oooohhhh what fun! cant wait for the wedding shoot!
Gretchen- you both look great! I love the picture at the end of you walking the dogs and kissing. I can see terriers hauling you forward into your happy future!
Wow! Amazing photos! Love the b/w and use of the dogs! The soon to be bride and groom are certainly in love and that is captured in these photos. So nice to see my cousin so happy…
My favourite thing is to go where I’ve never been. - Diane Arbus
is a diane arbus quote fitting for a wedding…? hahaha!
Much love, big hugs, congrats congrats congrats!!! you both look amazing, comfy and in love. Thanks for sharing this special time with us!!!
These are beautiful pix. Gretchen my God you are beautiful and Chris you are so lucky to get her. We love her and can’t wait for the big day. See you soon. The dog kids are so cute. We are bring our kids to see your kids. Love Rob and Laurie
Get together with these two after the wedding for a bridal session? Um - YA! Liz and Rob make our jobs delightful! It was a beautifully windy day to hook up and spend some time with these two.
The top two images are our personal fav’s - but there is something about the hair across Liz’s face that I like…
While in Philly, we hooked up with Darah of Dollface Studio and her darling hubby, Greg for a little tour of their town and some portraits along the way…
We love these two images - not just because of the textured location but the mocking in the background was priceless. Once they ran away we asked them to come back to do it again but decided we liked the first round better - PJ meets portrait?
This quick moving storm came in for us - we are always up for a little adventure. Ya, Philly - Bring it!
Love seeing you guys rock the storm on this one. Kudos to both the couple for taking some risks (including threat of an awesome lightning strike!!). You’re the best!
Philadelphia! The day after our wedding in williamsport, we headed back to spend just a little time in Philly… Dalisa wanted to experience a classic Philly cheesesteak and i wanted to finally visit Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and soak in some of our nations past… some may know that i love history, especially early american history.
Dalisa and I did find a really good cheesesteak, she may be hooked on philly…. so a return trip i’m sure will be inevitable.
Above - that’s the one place i really wanted to visit… here is where some of my favorite americans debated and drafted out the ideas that would eventually lead the country to greatness…
we interrupt this blog to send you to another…. what other.. well the fabulous McLellans blog.. Sean and Mel shot our family photos last week… and i have to say: they really kicked butt. Everyone knows that i am not a “fair weather” photographer with my clients and to find out that the McLellans were ready to roll with what Mother nature threw at us just made my day… head over to their blog and see our family photos….
