Andy and Elizabeth

May 31st, 2009

the bridal session

Despite Elizabeths very busy work schedule and recent travels in the last week between Las Vegas and New York, she still managed to look fresh and alive for their bridal session.

Just as at the wedding, Lori White provided the hair and make up application.

I have had my eye on this fence for a while now and finally had the opportunity to work it into a shoot. Ironically, I was so excited and wrapped up in what we were doing, I realized after we left that I did not actually take any photos - I left the mastery up to JMC… which is not a bad thing as you can see

And I love how Las Vegas provided it’s own, natural back drop for this shoot - as if it was scheduled just for us.  Thank you again, Andy & Elizabeth - You two seriously rock our socks!

Las Vegas produced perfect weather for this outdoor ceremony at the Green Valley Ranch Resort

May 23, 2009

It’s not a secret that JMC is known to sometimes lead the trends and various genre’s of wedding photography so we constantly re-invent, experiment and change our way of seeing things until it gets old and (unfortunately) over used.  At least our clients are receiving the freshest look available - in this case, it’s a little play on the details…

A few moments before walking out to anxious friends, family and future husband, Jenn sits calmly, Blackberry in hand

The new Mr. and Mrs. looking amazing… the staff over at Eleven Spa (Las Vegas’ new hot spot) helped bring this classic look together for Jenn and her bridesmaids.

And the bridal party was too much fun - they played so well together!

A party shot to end with - Jenn and Geoff started out with a side to side sway for their first dance but busted out with some hot moves about 10 seconds into it - the crowd was roaring!

It was a gorgeous day, thank you both for choosing us to capture it!

This stunning wedding was held at the Four Seasons Hotel on May 17, 2009

I feel very lucky that we had the opportunity to take part of such a timeless event.  JMC captured this shot of the chic dress that Elizabeth found at Las Vegas’ exclusive bridal boutique - Couture Bride

The elegant couple…

Details and Décor were created by the very talented (and always lovely) Randi Garrett at Naakiti Floral - not a thing was missed, we always know that when Randi is involved, everything is sure to come together beautifully.

Some of JMC’s favorite portraits of the evening… Hair and make up came together flawlessly by Lori White

And I love a good pair of Manolo’s

And of course, without further ado - this whimsical day ended with dancing, singing and laughter with the help of one spectacular wedding planner - Tracey of Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge Below, you can see the fun that Elizabeth and Andy had on the dance floor, but my favorite part? Tracey off to the side, cheering them along the entire time.

This was truly a gorgeous event, it is very clear that Andy and Elizabeth put a lot of thought and energy into the professionals that they chose to orchestrate their day. Thank you for allowing us to capture it.

Gretchen and Chris

May 27th, 2009

Reflection Bay - May 15, 2009

A Rockstar wedding.   I mean… a Diet RockStar wedding.  I knew within minutes of shooting Gretchen and Chris during their engagement session that I would be in for a fun day at the wedding and that I had better be up on my energy drinks… well, on the wedding day Chris brought me not one or two Diet RockStars but a whole case - all for myself…  lets just say that I was wide awake for this high energy couple.

The very talented and highly impressive, Mr. Chris Montoya was a true artist when it came to the ladies hair and makeup for the day and it was Alden from DiBella Flowers that put together the beautiful arrangements

Gretchen, Chris and the girls were lookin’ hot in J. Crew - one of my fav choices for bridal party attire

A WTF cake deserves a WTF image.  The cake arrived not with a subtle pastel green as requested but it was sporting a rather vidid “neon-shamrock” green with an air of ugliness about it.  While I think someone at some bakery will be getting a color blindness test, Chris and Gretchen just rolled with it and told me that I could do anything with the cake that I wanted..  hmmm….  After a little thought and considering I didn’t have either compressed air nor a ceiling fan near I decided to simply create an image that made you think: “WTF?”

Gretchen and Chris, thanks for a fun day and for the Rockstars!   .jmc.

Brett and Diana

May 23rd, 2009

All the way from Sydney, Australia for a small and intimate wedding, Brett was quick to prove that Australian charm and a young Paul Newman look can get you out of a ticket.  Though that wasn’t the only speed bump in the day’s plan (more on the post below) Brett and Diana did more than take things in stride, they made it an adventure.

One thing about the Australians that some in the state don’t know - they have some of the most kick ass bridal gown designers on the planet.  Below, Diana is wearing an Alex Perry design that is surely in the list of my favorite dresses to photograph - it was just absolutely stunning!   Brett and Diana, I had a blast with you two out in the desert under the big blue sky.  thank you!      .jmc.

Annie and Ryan.  Originally planned as a destination wedding in Mexico, diverted during the height of the media frenzy over the Swine Flu.  So, what better place to fall short of the border then the ever beautiful Ritz Carlton at Lake Las Vegas.  Ryan and Annie seemed to take everything in stride as LeAnna, the special events manager, put on a beautiful and memorable wedding.   .jmc

Susan and Jaden - Camp!

May 21st, 2009

Susan and Jaden - even though they have been straddling two cultures and having events in two very different countries, picked the perfect place to have a ceremony and reception.  Potosi Pines,  a place that has special meaning to susan and her family.  For me, the high desert of Nevada has a been one of my favorite places in the world to shoot, so I felt right at home photographing this ultra cool couple and giving their images a very summer camp feel.      .jmc.

Tisha and Jim

May 19th, 2009

May 3, 2009 - while Luiseville came alive with mint Juleps and heavy bets, Tisha and Jim put their own spin on the Kentucky Derby by celebrating their wedding in theme

The girls gorgeous hats were custom designed by Jill Hennings

Not a detail was missed.  From the custom designed boxed invitations to the mint Julep recipe card included with each silver cup, my favorite local stationary boutique, Annabelle’s made it all happen.

The gorgeous couple…

and then, there were the shoes.  Never before have I wanted so badly to take these gems and run… if we wore the same size, I admit that it might have happened.  I did, however, steal one of my best shoe shots to date - it’s amazing what love will do to you.

Tisha is stunning but I must admit, Couture Bride did an amazing job at fitting her with the perfect gown

And then there was cake… There could not have been a better center piece to the front room at the Virtruvian Mansion than this beautiful (and oh-so-tasty-I-know-from-experience) cake made by the very talented and handsome Dane at Simple Elegance.  Any wonder who my favorite baker is?

Tisha and Jim had a gorgeous day and we feel very lucky to have been a part of it!
