I not sure what made my day more, their sweet accents or cool wedding attire.  But right from the get go Gioia and Paul were energetic yet oh-so-cool.  If all the brides and grooms from Liverpool are this cool then i think i should move to the UK.

If Dalisa and I were more secretive this might just be a teaser post saying that “we have some super secret exciting news and we can’t let the cat out of the bag just yet but please keep checking back later for our uber cool announcement”.  But, as most of you know, Dalisa and i are pretty open about our business and the direction that our photography is headed.  So, when we committed today and set in motion the fulfillment of a 23 year old dream, we just could not wait to tell everyone.

This gorgeous couple tied the knot August 8, 2009.  Lauren at Style Sirens is credited for Jessica’s flawless make up.

We totally loved Jessica’s brothers old VW Bus - it was such a fun prop to work with

Jessica and Samuel… We just had a great time with you and your friends and family and got so many amazing shots - our blog entry would be miles long if we put them all up!  We can’t wait to show you the rest!  Thanks for a gorgeous day!

Time to start getting excited about New York!   Play the video below and get a taste of what Jason Groupp, the other half of our killer workshop, has in store for you!  As a photographer if you’ve ever had any New York dreams, then this is the perfect opportunity that’s knocking at your door.  First there is the workshop,  2 intense days with Dalisa, myself, and the ultra cool Jason Groupp.  Then there is the party, Jason’s world famous party, i missed it last year and have been regretting it ever since.  And if that is not enough PDN’s Photo Plus expo is the following day.  What a no-brainer: workshop, party, photography expo, and NEW YORK!

Sexy!  yes i’m talking about the car!  the super cool couple are pretty hot also.

A few dirty pictures….   just before i started editing these i was lucky enough to get my hands on a pre-release of the Boutwell’s new Dirty Pictures software which will most likely be released in the next couple of weeks…  Basically it is a kick ass photoshop plugin that makes texturing an image much more simple with many more options…  check it out..

FUN, FUN, FUN!  which I believe is the only way to describe Amanda and Craig on thier wedding day.  They got married right in front of the welcome to Las Vegas sign (a first for me) and from there we headed out for a very “Vegas” experience in which we are well versed in doing.

Riding in the limo to the sign, then down town, and finally the boneyard,  the limo seemed like it was the reception and party for this couple…   These two posed images were the only two seconds that Amanda & Craig weren’t smiling, laughing, enjoying Moet, and having a good time..  One of the most enjoyable times that I’ve ever spent on a limo ride.

A little downtown action in East Fremont..  Those who are familiar with our work will know that I am very fond of this area..

The Neon Museum, aka the Boneyard.  An hour in the boneyard is pretty much visual heaven for photographers and it was a fitting end to the Vegas adventure with a session here.   The first thing that I always ask when I arrive is “What’s new, what has changed?”  Well, the Silver Slipper is gone, but in its place is the historic Moulin Rouge sign.  I love it when I have something new to shoot, especially when it is one of those signs that I am very familar with.

July 11, 2009 - Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

A breathless destination + a stunning couple + a wicked cool bridal party = very lucky photographers… we could not have asked for anything more.  Whitney and Jennifer from One Luv Agency came along and did an amazing job (as usual) styling hair and make up for Lausanne and her bridesmaids

Lausanne and Jimmy not only introduced us to a beautiful location but they are over all really, really genuine people - the kind of couple that I would love to be friends with and share great times with.

After the ceremony they arranged for a traditional Shell Toss where all of their guests make a wish on a shell and toss it into the ocean - this little guy must have some big dreams…

The cocktail after the ceremony was a great celebration with the talents of Stephanie from Ajua Weddings- the mariachi blared and the drinks rolled in as all of the congrats and well wishes made their way to the new Mr. & Mrs.

And the festive reception took place at Ajua Maya! Restaurant - dinner was delicious!  I am ready to take the trip again just for the great dining experience!  Lausanne and Jimmy took their first dance to a whole new level - it was an impressive show…

So if all of this wasn’t great enough, they iced our adventure cake with a spectacular bridal session in a Mayan cenote… seriously, we could not have been luckier.

Sanne & Jimmy:  We had a spectacular week with you, your wonderful friends and your accommodating family - thank you for letting us into your world to capture such a great time in your lives.

When we heard that Lisa and Brian were getting married, we were more than honored when they came knocking on our door…

Lisa’s elegant gown was hand made by her very talented mother, Sandy..

Below, Lisa walks down the isle with her lovely father, Rex who is a long time friend and mentor of John. Back in the day when photographers were overly secretive and ultra competitive, Rex’s openness and generosity became an early model and inspiration for John to always share what he can with fellow up and coming photographers.
