Jason and JJ

November 30th, 2009

I love, love, love these two!  JJ’s smile is just magnetic and balances so well with Jason’s cool, calm & collected self.  And the perfect setting?  The Neon Museum, of course!

Jason & JJ were married 16 years ago and their next major commitment was the purchase of this fuchsia jeep - oh, the stories that this jeep could probably tell!

So sweet - I admire this duo for their strong affection and benevolence for each other, it’s just the kind of display that makes my heart warm.  I know, mush and slush - what can I say?

xo!

Eddie and Nikki

November 26th, 2009

This event is what I call ultra-chic.  Nikki is the stunning type that so naturally emits style and beauty - the part that really gets me?  Her quick wit is so tongue-in-cheek your in a constant state of high energy.  Not to mention - she was spicy hot on her wedding day, take a look..

Red Rock Casino served as the modern and lush location for this as-cool-as-the-most-perfect-gin-and-tonic ceremony and reception

Eddie’s ear to ear smile as he seals the deal - it’s the kind of smile that I find contagious

And I loved the colors - floral and decor by Nikki’s family business, Flower Fair

Thanks for such a gorgeous and easy going day, you two… it was fab!  Can’t wait ’till the bridal session!

Stephanie and Corey

November 22nd, 2009

Stephanie loves Corey, Corey loves Stephanie. Their wedding was like a rock and roll show. PfffffsSSSSSSSShT!  Yeah, some other photographers blog entry may sound like that, but not here and not at this moment.  I know Stephanie loves Corey because I’ve watched how strongly she takes care of everything around him. And I know that Corey loves Stephanie because I’ve seen how all of his muscles relax and his breath leaves his body when she enters the room…  their wedding was not just “like” a rock and roll show, it was a fucking ROCK Concert!  (yep I cussed. it’s my blog and I can fucking cuss if I want to).   Why was it a rock concert? Well Stephanie and Corey are in that business…  Corey is “the” Corey Taylor, the front man of Slipknot and Stone Sour.

This post BTW, is not their wedding post.  Rather, this is just a short announcement that Stephanie and Corey were married in the Pearl at the Palms and since it is news worthy it is also time sensitive..  Their real post will be coming a little later because we have so much material because Stephanie gave us complete creative latitude that we had to develop something totally different!  Stay tuned for one of the coolest engagement sessions and a very rock’in set of wedding images!  It is time for us to change the fucking game… just wait for it.    ……..jmc.

The cover of PDN

November 21st, 2009

We are on a roll!  a lot of announcements coming up… Some of it will sound like we are bragging, and that may be so, but i’m just too excited not to show off what we are doing..  A few weeks ago we were featured on the Today Show, and now one of our images is on the cover of the mother of all photography magazines: PDN - Photo District News!  As a Las Vegas photographer who got his wedding photography feet wet in a chapel on the Strip, I feel these last few years have made us feel that we’ve really made it…  From being barely able to make a car payment to opening up what we hope to be the premier photography studio in Las Vegas to shooting rock stars (more on that in the next post) life under the AltF brand and all of our hard work and dedication to our art is paying off!

PDN:  If you are not familiar with this magazine it is the magazine ,myself included, that most photographers dream of getting the cover of.   Well i can cross that one off my list now! To pop my own ego bubble myself, PDN didn’t search us out, we were recommend to be included in an Lighting article by our really good friend Jason Groupp who along with myself and Zack Arias (another of my favorite photographers and good friend).  Well they picked the cover from one of the 3 of us for the lighting issue cover.  I’m just happy, humbled and thankful that we get to stand beside the talents of Jason and Zack in the article.   Thank you again so much Jason for including me in and allowing me to strike off an entry on my wish list.

Also thanks to Amber at PDN for sending me some copies, which i have been struggling to get here in Las Vegas.

And who is that on the cover?  Well its Alyssa and Jim, from a wedding and Bridal we shot in Bethlehem, PA. in April.  check their post out if you haven’t seen this cool couple before.

Courtney and Craig

November 16th, 2009

the first word that comes to mind… tell me.  comment.

My thought is “divinity”.

We went straight to the portraits with this blog post - we were just to excited to show anything else first.

yes, ladies… those are THE Sex in the City wedding shoes - thanks Blahnik

October 11th turned out to be a beautiful day with perfect weather - and they chose the perfect location for the ceremony and one of our favorite places in all of Las Vegas, Red Rock Country Club.

such a happy couple..

I have never wanted to steal someone’s man away as badly as I wanted to steal Courtney’s man… You might recall Courtney & Craig’s engagement session which Phil made an appearance - it was love at first sight, I was promptly told to keep my paws off.  (Phil, if it doesn’t work out or even if you just need to vent, call me.)

As excited as I was to see Phil (**wink), John was hittin’ on this ‘66 VW Bus as soon as we walked up.  Does anyone else have a better getaway car in Vegas?  Didn’t think so.

The cake of cakes - we love it when we see something new and (even more important) superbly executed.  Hats off to pastry chef, Debra Mitchell from Treasure Island whom works alongside Craig.

Nothing better than a new slice at the typical wedding reception - Courtney and Craig mixed things up with this modern-yet-warm-and-comfortable location, Vintner Grill in Summerlin.  I am determined to make it back soon…

As you can see, the party went strong thanks to the wonderful people that the new Mr. & Mrs. have surrounded themself with.  You often judge people by those around them - and, well, I wanna be around these people too, they have a good thing goin’ on.

Tiffany and Leo

November 4th, 2009

Tiffany & Leo handed over full bragging rights to John with his favorite story of the year… This couple reserved us for their October 10, 2009 wedding well over a year ago - I feel like we are old friends. This past summer, Tiffany (being an avid blog follower which always tickles me) wasted no time to remedy the a slight problem that her computer monitor presented… one of our brides wore the dress that she purchased. Being a do-er, she promptly telephoned her mother and found a dress before the days end and forever giving us free reign to brag that we once had a bride that chose us over her wedding dress!

If that wasn’t cool enough - we stopped at Hot Dog Heaven for some portraits and she never even batted an eye - now that is what trust is all about.

Isn’t Leo’s wife gorgeous?  Jolana did great job - just as she had for their engagement session last February

Below is one of my most favorite images this year - I’m always a sucker for cool shadows.

Floral design by my favorite ukranian, Marisha Floral

A few detail shots of the room which was breath-taking, so fresh and vibrant, The staff at South Shore Lake Club at Lake Las Vegas wowed the guests as they entered the room.  And I had to concentrate on staying far, far away from the cake - I have this uncontrollable urge to dive face-first into any cake made by Dane at Simple Elegance - yes, it’s that good.  and I don’t even like cake.  go figure.

I must say - Tiffany and Leo had quite the dream team of professionals for their day, but it’s their uncanny kindness and sock-it-to-ya good looks that made our job so enjoyable.
