Trust… Admiration… Respect – just three thoughts that come to mind when I think of our couples.  We trust them… we admire them… we respect them – and in return, we receive the same response.  Sometimes all we get is a brief meeting or Skype call or phone chat and sometimes it’s just an understanding or connection that is immediately there.  Sometimes we know our clients for years or we call them friends first.  But always – we are spending one of the most important days of them.  We are with them on an emotional, important day more than any other wedding professional, family or friend.  That’s a big deal, right?  It’s a fast track for photographers to not only get to know someone but to then capture exactly what’s happening.  Photography can be technical – lighting, composition, equipment, business, blah, blah.  But as professionals, we have one day to hop on a fast track and learn a family, the love, the client, the joy, the emotion, the friends, the everything.  One day.  There are no do-overs and there are many that think they can take our place.   Many that think they can do a better job or even have a clue about what we really do.  I whole heartedly respect that Chip and Matthew had this whole “perfect wedding day” thing down to the most respectable style that we could imagine.  The day had nothing to do with anything other than them and the love that they shared.  They wed in one of the most luxurious and high end resorts nationwide yet it wasn’t pretentious.  They exchanged vows in front of their closest friends and family, yet their stroll down the aisle was so unassuming and natural.. unrehearsed, if you will.  They were different.  They were only caught up in their love and without even knowing them well, you have a strong understanding that it was barely about them and that the true purpose of the day was to bring the people that they loved to one place to celebrate not them as individuals, but their love for one another.  Chip and Matthew – I admire you and appreciate you for trusting us to do our job – the same job that we are so passionate about and take so completely seriously.  Thank you for allowing us to be us.
