Jen and Jeff

December 30th, 2009

This engagement session was as easy going and relaxed as this awesome couple is - I love it when I have freedom to create images freely and relaxed.

sweet checkered Vans..

And off to the Neon Museum for an alternative look - Jen’s eyes are piercing in the shot.

So fun and relaxed - I really enjoyed this shoot with these two!

Kara and Mike

December 26th, 2009

November 14, 2009

Kara & Mike’s classic ceremony took place at Saint Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church

These two looked stunning in the gorgeous winter colors of the Red Rock Country Club grounds

a little extra walk, John likes to go to the second clock for some portraits

Gina Pfersching at the club always does such an amazing job - she is one of our favorite wedding professionals to work with.  Put her together with Randi from Naakiti floral and you have yourself one awesome team for your wedding.

And of course, Dane at Simple Elegance wowed us again with his classy and delicious cake.

Kara & Mike blew us away with the first dance choreographed by the best dance instructor in Las Vegas, Kim Sakren of Perfect Wedding Dance.  Uuuummm… Kara and Mike - do I see a reality show in your future?

The oh-so-brilliant men of Memory Lane were there to capture these moves… I can’t wait to see it!  I will be sure to share the link when it’s available!

And a few images from their bridal session.  We started in the studio for some Hollywoodesque images…Lori White did an amazing job, once again on Kara’s hair and make up for the session

Then to the very cold desert for a different feel… and I don’t just mean the feel of 40 degrees

The last image is my fav.  Kara & Mike - you certainly had the dream team of wedding professionals to pull your event together but you two are a match made - well, in Las Vegas.  Congratulations and we wish all the best to you and your future together.

Cheers!

First Studio Session

December 9th, 2009

aka.  Stephanie and Corey: part ONE!

Though we are still not fully open yet in our new studio (very soon). We have been doing a few sessions here and there..  Our first official session to baptize the new studio is a real rock and roll couple, Stephanie and Corey, who gave us pretty much total creative freedom.  You might remember this tease post a week or so ago: Stephanie and Corey.

So here you go, starting off big in the new studio with a little help from Stephanie’s sister, Christine who is a wardrobe stylist here in Vegas, and JR lighting for supplying the killer profoto gear and the huge octobank which allowed me to make the light just how I envisioned it.  I just love these two images of Corey (above) and Stephanie (below) simple but complex. (the water, btw, is an important part of the story)  Exceptional hair and make up by Melissa Conner

“my personal style is dark”, that’s what I usually say.  It’s not often that I get the same said back to me, “yes we like it on the dark side also..”  Awesome, how lucky I am when a super cool couple’s vision lines up with my own personal vision.  dream come true.

These two images I’ll totally credit Stephanie with..  Stephanie says “we love Dexter“, we say “we are big Dexter fans also”, Stephanie says she would love a “dexter” style kill room scene.   Sweet!  We turn to our assistant Rachel and off she goes to buy as much plastic wrap as she can.  1/2 an hour later I have (below) probably my most brutally sexy kiss image of all time..  Thank you, thank you, Stephanie for that idea!

We have so much more to show you, just wait a little while longer for their full wedding post.
Below are a few images of Corey at his day job.  Corey Taylor, btw, is the front man of Slipknot and Stone Sour.  We were lucky enough to get a chance to photograph this couple while they were doing the last concert of the tour.

Stephanie, Corey, thank you two ever so much for the freedom to create, helping break in our new studio and for setting the bar so high for us right out of the gate.  dalisa and i love you guys!    .jmc.

Jessica and Matt

December 8th, 2009

I always look at an engagement session as a little taste of the wedding day - a sample of how the flavors will mix and come together.  Needless to say, this couple has me wanting more.

The Neon Museum is one of my favorite locations.  We are there often but Dan, the “Keeper of the yard” always mixes things up, moves pieces and has fun with the history that I feel like it’s a new location everytime we arrive.

Do you growl or purrrrr… Jessica is FIERCE!

Simply stunning… I am drooling over this Spring wedding at the Four Seasons - I promise more great pictures then.

Erin and Taichi

December 4th, 2009

Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - it’s as if they somehow que the beautiful sunset, perfect temperature and superb lighting, it’s always a win.

Erin and Taichi are so stunning, I am still having trouble finding words.  The dress, the style, the colors - the cornrows!  How lucky are we to have such stylish clients?

Randi at Naakiti Floral took my breath away with the decor & florals - the style and colors were pure perfection!

And I love that Erin was not afraid to take that leap into something different for her wedding gown - I could not have dreamed up better attire.  alright - and I admit it… I’m in love with the shoes.

Erin & Taichi - thank you for allowing us to capture your day and for satisfying our visual sweet tooth!

Jason and JJ

November 30th, 2009

I love, love, love these two!  JJ’s smile is just magnetic and balances so well with Jason’s cool, calm & collected self.  And the perfect setting?  The Neon Museum, of course!

Jason & JJ were married 16 years ago and their next major commitment was the purchase of this fuchsia jeep - oh, the stories that this jeep could probably tell!

So sweet - I admire this duo for their strong affection and benevolence for each other, it’s just the kind of display that makes my heart warm.  I know, mush and slush - what can I say?

Eddie and Nikki

November 26th, 2009

This event is what I call ultra-chic.  Nikki is the stunning type that so naturally emits style and beauty - the part that really gets me?  Her quick wit is so tongue-in-cheek your in a constant state of high energy.  Not to mention - she was spicy hot on her wedding day, take a look..

Red Rock Casino served as the modern and lush location for this as-cool-as-the-most-perfect-gin-and-tonic ceremony and reception

Eddie’s ear to ear smile as he seals the deal - it’s the kind of smile that I find contagious

And I loved the colors - floral and decor by Nikki’s family business, Flower Fair

Thanks for such a gorgeous and easy going day, you two… it was fab!  Can’t wait ’till the bridal session!
