Bonnie Scotland!
It’s been on the top of my “places to visit” list since my 20’s, and I’ve also recently become a fan of “Outlander”- the draw of the Highlands has never been stronger. Happy would be an understatement when Brittany and Matt invited us to photograph their engagement session in Scotland.
Part 1
Engaged, an American Sports Duo in Scotland
For the sports fan’s out there, Las Vegan, Matt Polster is a professional footballer playing in Glasgow for the Rangers FC. A former athlete herself and a sports reporter, Brittany Held is currently vlogging the couple’s relocation from the States to playing in the Scottish leagues. Good looking, athletic, stylish, and all in a beautiful location…. what more can a destination wedding photographer hope for?
First location. Brittany’s choice of this 15th century castle and it’s 17th century gardens made the perfect playground for our photography. Looking over the gardens below, the question is not what to shoot, but where to start. (For Outlander fans, the gardens appeared in season 2).
Matt’s attention to detail and helping set up Brittany’s veil. I took the image early making him part of the image, I just thought it added so much more context to their story.
Love it when a couple lets me play. A little quirkiness goes a long way. This is becoming one of my favorites of the trip.
When in Scotland…. One of Matt’s teammates learned of the upcoming photoshoot and suggested that Matt should absolutely wear a kilt in at least some of the images and lent him his attire. And I’m so glad he did, I think I might have been a little disappointed if Dalisa and I had traveled all this way not to get to photograph this piece of Scottish tradition.
