Adventure wedding photography… that’s something new. Well, not quite new. We have been photographing brides and grooms in the great outdoors for quite a long time, decades even. But now the industry in the last couple of years has coined a term around what is becoming a fast-growing and popular genre for young couples, “adventure wedding photography” or “adventure wedding elopements”. Many couples are opting to forgo the traditional wedding template and instead have a much smaller and intimate affair. Or, away from the mainstream and with locations that are so grand that they are massively inverse to the scale of the wedding. For Brian and Beata an adventurous wedding location fit who they are as a couple so much better then any traditional format would. While having a goal of visiting all of the National Parks, Brian and Beata, found the perfect environment for their wedding. Moab, Utah. With so many beautiful landscapes such as Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park, it seems almost that we had too many beautiful choices on where to shoot.
With vistas left, right and all around Moab, it seemed almost essential to have an extra day just to do portraits. We opted to shoot the day before the wedding and Beata had an extra dress just for it. Although we were expecting clear blue skies we got lucky with a weather system that brought us amazing clouds mixed with a little bit of snow and rain. The perfect mix for a unique landscape.
